From 22-26th of May 2019, the first the second of the project “Sport to promote change for LGBT” held in Shtip, North Macedonia, spurred the actions of project partners from Portugal, Italy, Croatia and North Macedonia to intensify their work on promotion of LGBT rights in sports.
Since being sensitive topic, participants, being sportspersons and activists themselves, were challenging their comfort zones and worked on the acceptance of the importance of mutual respect and support, both in cloakrooms and in the field.
Being hosted by the representatives of different departments of the Municipality of Shtip, through a discussion about the state of sports and how sport and social issues are tied together, participants had an insight how the things are done there, which they could compare to their national realities.
Next activity – workshop – under this project will happen in October 2019, Peniche, Portugal.
